OVERVIEW

The  Color Run is an event which promotes healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the "Happiest 5K on the planet"

"RUN AGAIN AND DISCOVER THE COLOR OF YOUR EXPERIENCE"

The problem that the association ** found is that after attending for the first time to the event a lot of contestants don't find attractive return to the event. For that reason The Color Run chose to promote a contest with the objective of create new interest in upcoming events in people who have already lived the experience, but also to create a trend so new contestants can get interested.

DISCOVERY

INTERVIEWS

I started by interviewing university/colleague students in the average aged of 25 who like to do exercise,  go to run racing's and that have gone before to The Color Run. I learned that their end-goals were simple, as students and love runners they want to return to the event with friends and families, so they look for different option to don't spend to much money.

USER JOURNEY

With the results above I got an idea of how the contest could work. My audience will be immersed in the contest in all the process since read the advertisement in the social media until they get the results. The participants will be able to sign in at any moment until the event ends, also they will have access to the different sections like create a post, share it in different medias and vote for other contestants.

SITE AUDIT

Using the Technic of card sorting I observed my audience to understand better their pain points and their goals, to then create a proper site architecture that can facilitate  their journey in the micro site and make the experience more friendly.

USER TESTING

The test provides helpful feedback that I missed during the design of my wireframes. Some of the important parts that I had to fixed were the nomenclature of the buttons, make easy to find the option 'Participate', add a research engine, can have a big view of the images.  To have a quick view of this prototype, click here.

UI DESIGN

ART DIRECTION

To make this site and the parent site visually consistent, I adapted the structure, colours and patterns from The Color Run Site. Seeking to make the users feel comfortable using the micro site I also used as inspiration social media sites.
